Puvusta en itsekkään oikein pidä, mutta Terispuku on niin ikoninen ja pelkistetty, että sitä ei kai vaan uskalleta alkaa muuttelemaan.

Heh. Minä taas en oikein siitä tykkää, koska sitä on muutettu niin paljon.
Mutta pitäisköhän tän takia taipua ja asentaa se Quick time, että vois kattoo noi trailerit. Telkkarista näin toissa päivänä kyllä pikku pätkän ja se näytti hienolta.

Mikäs tämän Superman returnsin idea/ juoni on?

Teräsmies palaa takaisin Maapallolle oltuaan viisi vuotta avaruudessa. Jatkoa niille 70-luvun leffoille.

70-luvun leffoja oli tasan yksi. Loput tehtiin 80-luvulla. Ja surkeat tv-sarjat 90-luvulla. Liittyykö tämä leffa mitenkään niihin?

No siis, tietenkin ne lukeutuvat niihin "seiskytluvun elokuviin", vaikka jatko-osat venyivätkin seuraavalle vuosikymmenelle. Eli ilmeisesti Superman I-III.

Lois and Clark ei ollut huono sarja. Ne kaksi ekaa tuokkaria olivat kultaa - katselin ne vähän aikaa sitten putkeen, ja kyllä niissä oli aika maaginen fiilis. Jännää oli että niissä oli välillä aika hienoja efektejä (kuten Lois heiluttelemassa kättään Clarkin silmien edessä hänen käyttäessä Röntgeniä), ja sitten heti perään joitain ihan kämäsiä (lentoon lähtö). Myönnän kyllä että kolmas ja neljäs tuokkari alko olla aika pakotettua tavaraa. Mutta niinhän se on aina, kun sarja venyy liian pitkään? Vrt. X-Files, MacGyver...
Superman TAS oli kanssa aika loistava, vaikka budjetti ei tietenkään ollut ihan yhtä hyvä (tai tekniikka yhtä kehittynyttä) kuin JLU TAS:ssa tai TT TASissa.

Superman Returns on epäsuora jatko-osa kahdelle ensimmäiselle elokuvalle. John Williamsin teemoja kuullaan, Jor-Eliä esittää Marlon Brando, Lois Lanen artikkeliin "I Spent the Night with Superman" viitataan, jne. Toisaalta koko elokuvan idea näyttää olevan suorassa ristiriidassa Teräsmiehen viimeisten sanojen kanssa toisesta elokuvasta:

Kyllä, nelosen valmisti Cannon Films, joka toi meille myös iki-ihqn Masters of the Universen. Auteur-teoriasi vain jättää toivomisen varaa. Eiköhän nelonen ole yhtä vähän eli paljon jatkoa kahdelle ensimmäiselle kuin kolmonen, riippumatta siitä, kuka Reeven ja Kidderin palkkashekit allekirjoitti.

"The Man of Steel made his long-awaited return to cinemas on Wednesday in the super hero epic Superman Returns which topped the North American box office in its first day of release with $21,037,000 in ticket sales, according to official figures released by Warner Bros. The gross included Tuesday night previews which began at 10:00pm. The Bryan Singer-directed film generated only the eighth biggest Wednesday opening in history with a performance that was strong, but not record-breaking.
 
Spider-Man 2, which was also a comic book-inspired film debuting right before the Independence Day holiday weekend, still holds the record with a colossal Wednesday bow of $40.4M two years ago and is followed by The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King ($34.5M in December 2003), Star Wars Episode I ($28.5M in May 1999), and a handful of others. Five-day tallies reached $152.4M for Spider-Man 2, $124.1M for King, and $105.7M for Episode I. All three of those films went on to gross more than $370M domestically.

Flying into 3,915 theaters, including 76 Imax locations, Superman Returns averaged $5,373 per site on Wednesday and hopes to keep attracting moviegoers during the extended holiday weekend. With the Fourth of July falling on a Tuesday, attendance at the multiplexes is expected to remain high each day until mid next week. Critics were mostly supportive of the extra-long film which clocked in at over two and a half hours."

Viikonloppu on Amerikassa jo ohi, ja Teräsmiehen tulos näyttää tältä:

"Flying to the top of the charts, Superman Returns collected an estimated $52.2M over the Friday-to-Sunday period and $84.2M since its launch on Wednesday. The PG-13 film was the first new installment for the beloved comic book characeter in nearly two decades and averaged a strong $12,829 over three days from a massive 4,065 theaters. The total gross included about $3M from Tuesday night previews which began at 10:00pm and $5M from 76 Imax theaters where the film was presented with special 3D footage. The studio expects to reach a seven-day tally of $110M by the end of Tuesday.

Reviews were mostly positive for the Bryan Singer-directed film which saw newcomer Brandon Routh stepping into the title role following the late Christopher Reeve. Kevin Spacey plays arch-nemesis Lex Luthor while Kate Bosworth takes the role of Lois Lane. The pricey film carried a colossal production budget in the neighborhood of $250M which included about $40M in early development costs before the current cast and crew were in place.

Though a strong number one bow, the opening of Superman Returns did not match up to the debuts of similar action and sci-fi films. One year ago, the Tom Cruise alien invasion film War of the Worlds opened over the same holiday weekend with the same Wednesday start but grossed a higher $100.6M over its first five days. Four years ago, Men in Black II also premiered the same way and grossed $87.2M over its Wednesday-to-Sunday launch which at today's ticket prices would be close to a nine-digit gross. The Kryptonian hero's five-day opening even fell short of the three-day bow of Singer's last film X2: X-Men United which opened to $85.6M three years ago.

However, Superman Returns did manage to open better than last summer's Batman Begins which was another Warner Bros. film attempting to restart a dormant super hero franchise. That film captured $72.9M in its five-day debut including $48.7M over the Friday-to-Sunday period. The new Clark Kent pic is off to a 16% better start than the new Bruce Wayne flick over five days, and only 7% better over the weekend portion. The studio hopes to have long legs again like it did with Batman which went on to gross $205.3M domestically."

Tulipa viime viikolla katsottua tämäkin tekele ja täytyy sanoa että olipa pettymys. Ainakin tunnin liian pitkä, sillä en muista katsoneeni yhtään superleffaa jossa olisin vilkuillut kelloa ja miettiny milloin tämä oikein loppuu.
Ja miten ihmeessä Luthorista olikin saatu noin laimea tyyppi?
Olisi vielä paljon valittamisen aihetta juonellisista ratkaisuista, mutta en viitsi spoilata niitä jotka tosissaan meinaa tuhlata elokuvalippuun rahansa.

Just tulin teatterista. Parempi kuin odotin, en odottanut mitään.

Aineksia juonessa oli puolen tunnin leffaan, mutta hidas tempo ja fiilistely palkittiin loppupuolella: syntyi tunnelmaa. Mutta jos aiotte katsoa tän, niin ei se dvd:ltä toimi. Menkää leffaan.

Käsikirjoitus oli hyvin tekninen, toisaalta toimiva, toisaalta läpilaho ja istutukset arvasi istutuksiksi heti kun ne näki. Intertekstuaalisuus oli runsasta, ja jumalviittaukset: Atlas kannattelee maapalloa, Ikaros putoaa tavoiteltuaan liian korkeita. WTC-yhtäläisyyksiä oli paljon, ja olihan siellä ekan Action Comicsin kansikuvakin valokuvana. Pidin siitä ettei Teräsmies pelastanut kaikkea, vaan ihmisten piti pelastaa itse itsensä ja myös ihmisjumalansa: ihmisen ja yli-ihmisen suhde on symbioosi, kumpikin auttaa toisiaan. Suurin pettymys oli se miltä odotti eniten: Kevin Spacey, ja Luthorin seuralaiset.
