COMICS AS ART – ART AS COMICS
C’est Bon Kultur will release the second issue of C’est Bon Anthology in
February of 2007, available for order from the December issue of the
Previews catalogue. This issue features comics ranging from an artistic
murder mystery by Henrik Rehr (Tribeca Sunset, Tuesday) to dystopic
future sports by Danijel Zezelj (Congo Bill, Loveless and the upcoming
Desolation Jones series) to a text piece on art and comics written by
Paul Gravett (Graphic Novels: Stories to change your life). With a 3d
cover by Nathan Fox (Batman: Black & White), this is a mix of
established artists and new exciting talent, collaborating to expand the
boundaries of what can be done in the comics medium.
C’est Bon Anthology is printed on high quality paper and will always
have self-contained stories. Vol. 2 weighs in at 104 pages and 17.95 usd.

PIRACY IS LIBERATION
In February, C’est Bon Kultur also offers its first graphic novel
through the Previews catalogue ; Piracy is Liberation: Information Wants
to be Free. This is the first part of an exciting new series by Mattias
Elftorp. During its course it will explore such areas as relationships
and revolution, anarchism and religion. All set in a gigantic city, a
world without history. It’s political theory presented in the form of a
cyberpunk postapocalypse, and presents an entirely new way to look at
file-sharing. Warren Ellis says about Piracy is Liberation: “an art
style that seems to me to combine Brian Wood with Ben Templesmith, to
jagged, hate-ridden, nervous effect. I really like it”
The story follows Pirate who is an information addict. When he recieves
a cry for help: ‘Information wants to be free’, he has to find out what
it means. Only problem is that the infopolice are hot on his trail, so
he has to run and avoid falling in the same trap that Information did.
