Hi,
i don't know if this is in the right category but here goes:
the belgian comics anthology Parfifal (
www.parcifal.be) is about to release it's first issue and welcomes entries for the second and third issue as well. Nothing special you might think, but! If things go according to plan, published stories will get paid for, which is a rare thing in the alternative comics scene. 20euros per page. The comic magazine is full colour so you can take that into account as well.
As far as what kind of magazine this will be, i can give no answers yet (that with the first issue not being published yet) but here's what it says in their mission statement "
alternative
flemish (meaning, it will be translated into flemish), short (stories from 1-10 pages),
understandable (not something just you and your girlfriend understand),
planet earth (no robots or goblins we prefer characters with the name Steve and Maggie rather then Atanaxia and Bogarth),
no macho stuff (only if you live and ghetto and are confronted daily with guns, drugs and rape you can write about it. If you haven't seen too many guns in your life, don't write about them),
what rules (it's not because we state these rules that you the artist cannot come and convince us of the opposite with a good comic story),
rock and roll (politically incorrect humour is allowed),
illustrated shorstories (maybe)"
Parcifal will be published four times per year, have a B5 size and a printrun of about 1500 copies. Price 3 euros.
