Mauro Pawlowski has been called the alien giant of Belgique pop culture, which is probably not far from the truth. His cult band "The Evil Superstars" was an explosive mix of noiserock, pop sensibilities and zappaesk lyrics. Although it was shortlived and commcercial success was never received, the influence on the belgian rock scene is not to be underestimated. Especially because in all honesty "Evil spirit come home" is the best belgian rock song ever. Mauro is now active in 9 different bands, sideprojects and aliases. dEUS, that other Belgian indie icon, was joined forces by Mauro in 2004. That same year Mauro released 5 records. Anything from improvised laptop music, ecclectic avantgarde jazz, satanic mashups to laidback popsongs, Mauro finds his voice in all these genres.
The concert at Pitkämies will be an improvisation and variations on these themes, but then again, knowing Mauro he just might show up with a guitar, gathers us around the table and start singing cheesy lovesongs.
For free, ofcourse
It's a sad sad planet
Wasn't it Jesus who said it?
